The Moors

Exmoor and Dartmoor are incredibly beautiful and wild, perfect for long walks, wild swimming and they have great pubs.
Exmoor National Park - 17 miles - from Buzzards to Dulverton.

Beach & Lake

Saunton Sands - 40 miles - This is a spectacular beach, it has incredible space and light, fabulous sand dunes and is great for walking at all times of the year. Dogs love it and can go all year round.
Saunton Golf Club  - Offers 36 holes of beautiful Championship Links Golf, set in the heart of North Devon.
Surfing in Saunton - We recommend Archie and his team of surf instructors at Surf Saunton.
Fish & Chips - Braunton (Squires) is our favourite.

Croyde - 43 miles - Another great North Devon surf beach, lovely atmosphere, beautiful rock pools. Ideal for children.
Walking & Cycling - The Tarka Trail is a network of beautiful walks and cycle paths.

Beer -  27 miles - Famous for mackerel fishing.
Beer, once a smugglers haunt, is now known for its fishing and beautiful cove - a sun-trap, sheltered from the prevailing westerly winds, with a shingly beach nestling below the chalk cliffs, it's the ideal take off point for a bit of mackerel fishing.

Dartmouth - 38 miles - Vibrant harbour town, on the mouth of the River Dart with a rich maritime heritage, great restaurants (The Seahouse  & The Angel), shopping, river cruises and walks onto the South West Coast Path.  
Wimbleball Lake - 17 miles - There’s a 7-mile cycling and walking trail around the lake, with riverside walk along the River Haddeo. Lots of water sports in a fabulous setting.

Wimbleball Sailing Club - 17 miles - provides dinghy sailing, racing and RYA sail training, as well as kayaking and paddle boarding.
Wimbleball Fishing - Wimbleball Reservoir is set within the beautiful surroundings of the Exmoor national park. Fly fishing available for stocked Rainbow and wild Brown Trout.
Exmouth - 23 miles - Pretty, popular sea side resort with great water sports including windsurfing, kitesurfing, paddle-boarding and kayaking.
